On the paths of Leonardo da Vinci in Italy
2019 is the year in which Italy will be overflowing with celebrations marking the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci, the man who more than any other, represented Italy throughout the world. Several cities including Milan, Florence and Rome will host a series of special events. The full program of Italian exhibitions and events honouring Leonardo throughout 2019 can be found on the pages of the Where® magazines.
This year you can discover the country that gave life to the person considered the world over as one of history’s greatest thinkers. While visiting Italy you’ll follow the steps of this man whose creative mind shaped the intellectual, social, cultural, and political facets of European life from the fifteenth century. Leonardo made an indelible contribution to philosophy, nature, medicine and art. All that now remains is for us to look for the traces left by the enigmatic Leonardo. You’ll find them in whatever part of Italy you’re visiting. If you happen to find them, please share with us your comments, on your social account (our hashtags: #wheremilan, #wherevenice, #whereflorence, #whereturin, #whereitalia).
By the end of the year, we’d like to collect a gallery of the friends of Italy.
