A ziggurat at Santa Croce
Wolfgang Laib, one of the protagonists of contemporary research in art, enters into a dialogue with the great masters of the past in a wide-ranging one-man show inside the historic centre of Florence. A monumental construction (a terraced pyramid covered in beeswax) stands in the middle of the Pazzi Chapel by Filippo Brunelleschi in the Basilica of Santa Croce. The other venues – the Magi Chapel (Palazzo Medici Riccardi) and the Rucellai Chapel (Church of San Pancrazio, Museo Marino Marini) – will host two more modest projects, again using natural materials such as beeswax and pollen.
