Opera under the stars
In the splendid courtyard of Palazzo Arsenale, the Teatro Regio offers three evenings in the company of the opera buffa par excellence, “The Barber of Seville”. An opera representative of the Italian repertoire that is animated by a frenetic and whirling vital momentum, an “organised chaos”, as Stendhal said. Rossini tells the story of a love affair devastated by an old man, but redeemed by the inimitable figure of the most famous factotum in the history of music, Figaro. On the podium of the Teatro Regio Orchestra and Chorus returns Nikolas Nägele and on stage Jack Swanson, Miriam Albano and Andrej Žilikhovskij, a team of splendid young voices.
The performance is held on 11, 15 and 18 September 2021.
