In the heart of the Renaissance
In the year of Leonardo, Palazzo Strozzi chooses to celebrate his master, the artist who symbolised the Renaissance in Florence: Andrea del Verrocchio. This major exhibition, with a special section at the National Museum of the Bargello, hosts more than 120 paintings, sculptures and drawings from the world’s most important museums and collections. For the first time, it brings together masterpieces by Verrocchio and significant works by the greatest artists of the second half of the 15th century associated with his workshop, at the same time revealing the start of Leonardo da Vinci’s career and the artistic environment at the time of Lorenzo the Magnificent.
